Crazy, Busy, Fun Halloween Week!

What a Fun Halloween we had! This year the Girls had dance parties, school parties, family parties, and trick-or-treating! No wonder we were all worn out by Saturday night!

Friday Harley and I went and helped at Aspen's class Party! All of the kids were so fun and made Harley feel just like a BIG KID! She keeps asking when she can go to Aspen's class again! That night we went to Aspen's School Fair! The girls had fun playing games,
eating dinner, and getting balloons!
On Halloween, Grandma Snyder had her Halloween Party! Always lots of FUN!
We had Pumpkin Shaped Pizza and Witches Brew for Lunch,
played games..find the bones and musical chairs!
Grandpa did his donuts from a string game.The girls made spiders, candy neckalces and decorated cupcakes!
Thanks for such a fun party Grandma!

After that we headed home, took a little cat-nap and headed off trick-or-treating! We stopped by our old neighborhood and then headed to Grandma Welch's for dinner and more trick-or-treating! The Girls had so much fun and got way too much CANDY!

Both of the girls started dance again in September. Aspen is doing Tap and Ballet, again, and Harley is in Ballet. They love to dance and they love Grandma Chris and Charlee, their dance teachers!

Aspen is doing great this year, she's one of the oldest in her class and catches on to thing real fast, a great confidence booster for her! I love the tap, but her favorite right now is ballet.

Harley dances so cute and is catching on to her routine pretty good. She is, by far, the youngest in her group. According to her age she should be in the mommy-n-me class, but we did that last year. She is struggling a little bit...she doesn't want me to leave the room like the rest of the moms and sobs if I do, but thankfully Grandma Chris loves these little kids and makes exceptions when needed. For the time being, I'm a temporary helper teacher in Harley's class. She has to dance with the kids and I help the teachers, hopefully she'll be ready for me to leave soon!

My Baby Is Not A Baby Anymore!

Little Miss Aspen started Kindergarten in September! Holy Moly! I can't believe she's big enough to go to school! We are both very excited, she is sooo ready to go to school! We were lucky enough to get to go to a Charter School, hence the uniform look... I love having a uniform because Aspen can't really argue about what to wear to school and it makes the mornings go so much easier!

We met her teacher a few days before school actually started. Aspen really likes her teacher! She even has a few friends she already knows, some from pre-school, dance and the ward! To her disappointment, her cousin was put in the other morning class, but at least the see each other through out the day!

I did really well at not crying, I was actually more excited for her than sad that she's all grown up! Aspen loved pre-school and was very excited for Kindergarten, I guess that made it easier on me! But, there was one day that she broke my heart and made me cry! After the first 6 or 7 days of school I told Aspen that it was time for her to be able to walk into the school on her own, that mommy didn't need to walk her in anymore. She completely broke down and was sobbing in the car. (we had been talking about this for a few days, so it wasn't something new) I pulled up front and told her she could do it, she was so big, I tried bribing, nothing seemed to help. But, I stuck to my guns and told her she had to get out because we were holding up the line. Reluctantly she got out, shut the door, and stood there crying "mommy!". I felt like the worst mom in the whole wide world! She finally walked in and I secretly watched her till I couldn't see her anymore. I then broke down and started sobbing! I called Shane and told him how mean I was, but he didn't get it, so I called my sister and she reassured me that Aspen was just fine, and she was! She gets out of the car all the time without complaint and marches in like she owns the place! Now that's the sassy girl I know and love!

County Fair

We hit the county fair a couple times this year.. once with the welch's and once with the Snyder's! Thursday night we went to the concert.. Chris Kaegel (I think! and who know's if I spelled that right) and the kids had fun dancing around while the adults had fun checking out all the white trash.. I swear fairs bring all the crazies out!

After the kids had had enough, we found the petting zoo. Harley couldn't wait to go in and pet all the animals, Aspen wouldn't go in for anything! She finally gave in towards the end and came in to pet a turtle and a bunny...but if the goats came close she started running!

The next day we went with Grandma Snyder, Steph, Adi and Aja. We hit all the booths, the petting zoo, and the pony ride. And of course we had to get Kettle Corn, my favorite!

Canyon Picnic

My kids and the other grandkids love when Grandma Snyder takes us for a picnic up the canyon. Whether we bbq or bring up fast food, they are happy just to run free and dip their toes in the freezing stream! This time we were able to bring Aspen's friend, Sami.

So, for any of you who really know Aspen, you will be amazed at the pictures below! Yes, we got Aspen to take swimming lessons, and had ZERO meltdowns! It's not that Aspen doesn't like the water, she really loves playing in water, but when it comes to being in water deeper than her chest she freaks out! Life jacket, no jacket, mom holding her, anyone holding her, she freaks out. She's only happy on stairs in pools and waist deep in lakes. Knowing this, I put her in the very basic class, most of the kids were 3, she's 5, but she loved it! She trusted her teacher from the get go and never hesitated for a moment! Way to go Aspen, we are so proud of you!

We have really enjoyed our new place because of the friends that stop by often and hang out! Most of the time there are 2 bucks, sometimes a doe and sometimes a little spike. They are so fun to watch and they don't seem too bothered by us or our dog, Sadie! The girls love it when the deer come to visit!

So, part of the reason we moved last fall was to get a bigger lot so that Shane could have his MONSTEROUS GARAGE for all of his toys, tools, junk, etc... Well, he and his helpers(Cal, Cody, Aaron, John, Jer, Karla, and ME!) have been busy all summer and it's pretty much done! We just have to brick the front and finish the driveway. Shane is such a hard worker and works from sun-up till sun-down! Now we need some new toys to put in this thing!

We have been so lucky to go to Bear Lake for the last 10+ years with my family! Our good friends have a house just off the shore that they let us borrow and it has a private beach, too! So we just hang out on the beach, bring boats or toys to play with and enjoy all the Raspberry Shakes we can handle! YUMMY!

Here are some pics of us playing on the beach and in the water.. So nice to just relax and bake in the sun... and the kids were forever in the water.

We borrowed Shyann and Cody's boat and toys and had a blast! The water weenie is always a crowd favorite, but I love the new 3 person tube.. what a ride!

My Dad..Grandpa.. bought a new remote control boat to bring up and everyone had fun driving this little speed demon! Especially Harley and Adi!

This year we went during Raspberry Days and there was a Rodeo going on. Steph has never taken her kids to a real rodeo... are you kidding me?! She's lived in West Jordan and now is in Herriman.. Rodeo's all the time! We decided to go and I told Steph that she has to dress up like a cowgirl and so do her girls.( That's half the fun, right?!) We has lots of fun and the girls looked so stinkin cute... I just love kids and boots!

We missed our Florida Families this year! It seemed a little empty with out everyone.. maybe next year you can join us!

She Finally Did It!

I have been trying to get Aspen to cut her hair for quite some time. The answer has always been "NO!". Then I started telling her about Locks for Love and all the people she knew that had donated. She finally told me she wanted her haircut in July so we called our friend and got both of the girls' hair cut! They both were so good and both look adorable with their new do's!

She ended up cutting about 12 inches off! Holy Moly! She loves her new cut and so do I! It's nice to be able to do some new hair styles that we haven't been able to do since she was little!

I decided since Apsen cut her hair that Harley needed to loose the "mullet" on the back of her head. It really looks so cute and is so easy to do!

Super Slacker... Yep, that's ME!

So, I know, I know, I know! I'm a super slacker lately! But it's not just my blog, I haven't been on Facebook forever either! It all started back in June. I put myself in charge of making a slide show and scrapbook for my Grandparents 60th Anniversary. I was spending every free minute trying to get them finished in time for their luncheon. I got it done! but I was burnt out of being on the computer. Then, my camera broke! Seriously! So all my pictures were on other people's cameras. And then I just got lazy. But, I have a new camera and a lot to catch up on... so I'll post a little here and there and try to get caught up!

Surprise Surprise... the Welch's went camping over the holiday weekend!
We went back out to Vernon..the weather was so-so.. we didn't get too much rain, but definitely could have used a little more sunshine and a little less wind! But overall, we had lots of fun, especially the kids.. where do they get all that energy?!

He did buy himself a big rock with an elk carved in it for his birthday, and he has another surprise coming, but he'll get that when we celebrate with the Snyder's!

Little Miss Aspen Graduated Pre-school!
Thursday the 21st was the big day! Aspen made me smile because all day she kept telling me she was so nervous for her graduation! I kept telling her all she had to do was sing and smile and everything would be great, and it was! We are SO PROUD of how much she has learned over the last 2 years! I still can't believe my BABY will be going to Kindergarten in the fall! Aspen did an amazing job and was the cutest one there, no biased opinions at all!

On Sunday we celebrated with my family at Grandma Snyder's House! We had a cute PINK POLKA DOT CAKE and lots of fun presents! Grandma and Grandpa also just got a new swingset and slide, so the kids played and played outside! We miss our Florida Families! Thanks for all the fun gifts...especially the snow cone maker!

Finally, Monday came, Aspen's "real" birthday! When she woke up she told me to look at how tall she was now! It made me laugh! She was so excited to celebrate her birthday at school and she took star cookies to share. We also had a quick lunch at McDonald's before school. That Evening all the Welch's came over for Pizza and Presents! It was a crazy weekend, but Aspen loved every minute of it! Thanks again everyone for making her "weekend" special!

Busy Little Trouble Monkey!

So, even though I have 2 girls, lately I feel like Harley is taking over "the little boy" role at our house! She is so busy and into trouble all the time! I wish I had taken pics, but I always thought about it after the fact.. but here's what she's been up to the last few weeks...

We have a big mirror on top of our dresser in our room, when we moved we lost the screws that held it on so shane just put our tv and dvd player in front of it to hold it up till he got around to finding some screws (poor parenting, I know!). Well one day while the girls were watching a movie in our room Harley managed to somehow pull the tv and dvd player onto the floor which then made the mirror and all the pictures on the dresser fall to the floor too! I was doing dishes when I heard the crashing and screaming.. I ran to find Harley standing on the bed crying and Aspen standing on the floor hysterical. By some miracle, neither of them were hurt.. how the managed that, I have no idea!

Well, the next week is when Harley stuck a blue smartie up her nose, pretty far up there! Luckily Shane was home and we decided to try and get it out ourselves. After having Harley blow and blow the thing wouldn't budge. So i had to tackle and hold her down while Shane went in after it with tweezers! Success! He got it out without causing any pain, way to go Dr. Dad!

Then she's learned how to climb up onto the top bunk bed by standing on her bedrail, climbing up onto the dresser and then onto Aspen's bed. She thinks she's pretty cool until she tries to get down.. she gets to the dresser and gets stuck. So she'll call me to come help her and when I walk in her room she puts on the biggest smile and says "help me, mom?".

Then just the other day she managed to tip over her 5 drawer dresser. She pulled out the 2 bottom drawers and stood on them to try and reach into the top drawer! Again, somehow she managed to escape unharmed and was stading next to it saying "sorry mom, sorry mom". And if that wasn't enough, just about an hour later she fell off the other dresser trying to get down off of Aspen's bed! Seriously Kid! Give your mom a break! Good thing she's cute, right?!

Here's our Fun Easter Weekend!

We went camping as usual with the Welch Family and luckily didn't get rained on too much! The kids had fun riding 4-wheelers, riding bikes, playing outside and watching a few movies!
The Easter Bunny always comes on Saturday when you're camping and the kids all got fun new things! And there were even Easter eggs hidden outside.. how fun! Aspen was a pro at finding eggs and Harley caught on real quick!

Then Sunday morning we packed up and headed home to get ready for dinner and another egg hunt at Grandma Snyder's house! The girls looked so adorable in their Easter dresses!

On St. Patrick's Day I decided to do a little something fun for the girls, and they loved it! Green Pancakes with Coolwhip and Green Sprinkles! They thought I was the most clever Mom in the whole world! And they loved helping me make them! And Aspen made sure that she and Harley wore Green jammies the night before so they wouldn't get pinched in the morning!

And here they are dressed in their GREEN! Aspen had her school party the day before and I'm so mad I didn't take her picture! She had on a green shirt with a jeweled shamrock on it and had the cutest shamrock pony-tail scrunchies in her hair! But they do look super cute in these pics!

The other night we had most of Shane's family over for dinner, and the girls wanted to play dress-up. They came out and modeled what they had on, and then one by one the boys came out..dressed up too! What good sports those boys are! Even poor Rueger got dressed up.. you can tell how much he appreciated that!

Aspen was on the lottery list for charter school kindergarten.. and she got in! We're so excited she'll be going there and she'll also be with some of her cousins.. Calob might even be in the same class! Aspen also found out that a couple of her friends at preschool will be going there, too! I can't believe Aspen's going into kindergarten in the fall.. where does the time fly?!

Miss Harley Is Fully Potty Trained(by 26 months)!!! Yeah Harley!!!
For the last couple weeks she's been doing real well at keeping her diaper and panties dry, and last week she decided no more diapers(woo hoo!)! She's even been staying dry at night for a few weeks, and now she refuses to wear night-time pull-ups. So for the last 4 nights she's been in panties and has woke up dry every day! We are so Proud Miss Harley... and so is She!

Valentines and Birthdays!

What a busy time of year! Not only was it Valentines Day, but we've had birthdays galore! Starting on the 1st it was my nephew, Bracken's Birthday, next was Cody on the 9th, my niece, Adi, on the 11th, my nephew, Keldon, on the 13th, and mine is Friday! This last weekend was especially busy.. we did valentines and Keldon's birthday on Friday night, Valentines at my mom's on Saturday, Mine and Adi's birthday on Sunday, and Shane and I went out for Valentines on Monday!(I had lots of fun just being with ya, babe!) Here's some cute highlights...

Keldon's Party and Valentine's Party... We had pizza for dinner, made bags to put candy in from the pinata, made candy necklaces, opened presents, and had cake and ice cream!

On Valentine's Day we had lunch with the Snyder's and then made heart sugar cookies with Grandma, Adi, Aja and Steph! We got lots of fun treats and presents for Valentine's Day!

Adi and I celebrated our Birthday's on Sunday... yummy food and chocolate cake!

At school, Aspen learned about why parents work and some parents came in to tell the kids about their jobs. One mom is a nurse and brought all this stuff for each kid. The girls thought it was fun to try it out!

Harley's day started off with breakfast.. Daddy made pancakes and we sang to her..She thought that was so cool! Then we hung up a TinkerBell Birthday Banner and Balloons!

It took 2 trys, but she got them out!

Here's Miss Harley excited for her birthday and Aspen just taught her how to say the numbers 1-10..pretty cute!

Then later that night we had both families(Snyder and Welch) and the Milliners over for dinner, cake and lots of fun! We had 15 Adults and 15 kids( a 12 year old and the rest 9 and under(6 of those were 3 and under!)) Needless to say, it was crazy!

Miss Harley is now a 2 year old! She is so excited for her birthday, Jan 23rd, and loves to tell everyone that she is 2! She is a little miss jabber box and says so many new things all the time. Last night was the Girls Christmas Dance Performance. Aspen was sooo excited to dance on stage, and Harley had no clue what to expect, but said she wanted to dance on stage, too! They were so good about wearing curlers all day, getting their hair done and getting all dolled up for the big show. It was a crazy and hectic night, but I loved every minute of it. My night went a little like this... arrived 40 min early to save seats, watched the 1st two dances, ran aspen out to line up for her dance, sat down in time to watch Kahlee dance, then watched Aspen dance, ran out to give Aspen her tap clothes, ran back to watch her dance, watched Kahlee again, ran out and got Aspen, took her back to our seats, grabbed Harley, ran out and lined up with her, did Harley's dance, stayed on the side of the stage to watch Adi dance, then went back to my seat and finally had a moment to sit until Aja danced. Then we packed up and my family and Steph's in-laws came over for hot chocolate and doughnuts. I am so proud of my girls and my neices! They all did a fabulous job! Thanks to all who came to support my Girls..it means a lot to them! And Thank You Grandma's and Grandpa's for the flowers!

By the time Shane got the plow put on the 4-wheeler and was ready to plow the drive it was just after 7pm. I knew it was way cold and late to go out, but who can resist doing donuts on the 4-wheeler? Not Me! So I bundled up the girls and we went out and played till almost 8pm! Sadie loved running free in the snow while we played around in the backyard and in the empty street just south of us, which was completely covered in ice! We had so much fun!

Can I just say how excited I am! About a week and a half ago Harley came up to me and said, "potty mama" and went and got her little potty. We've tried sitting on the potty a few times before, but nothing serious. So I set her down and batta-bing...she went potty! And she did it again later that night! And since then she's gotten better at going in the potty before she goes in her diaper! I'm so amazed! I'm still not pushing her to go when she doesn't want to, and she won't tell me she has to go when we're out and about, but hey, at least she's kinda potty trained at home! Hopefully we can be done with diapers by her birthday... that would be wonderful! I'm just so proud of her! Good Job Harley!

For Family Night las night we made and decorated a Gingerbread House!(thank goodness for store-bought kits!) The girls loved eating the frosting and Aspen loved decorating..Harley loved eating the decorations! We went downtown on Saturday night to see the lights at Temple Square with Shane's family. It wasn't too cold wich made it enjoyable, but it was super crowded! The girls love the Nativity Scene and running around by the water by the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. We even saw a cute bride and groom getting their pics taken with all the lights..how cute! Afterwards we went to dinner at the "good ol' IHOP in Riverton..It's never busy and when you have a crowd of almost 20 starving people, who wants to wait!

I'm slow posting this, but we went to the Zoo with Grandma and Grandpa Snyder a few weeks ago. It was a very nice day and not very crowded! My only complaint... The Kettle Korn Stand was CLOSED! That's the best part of the Zoo! We had lots of fun with G&G Snyder!

I know, I know, I know... it's been awile, but I feel like I've been so busy lately..it's crazy! I went and saw Twilight on the 21st...Loved it and was disappointed all at the same time! We had family pics taken on Sunday..will post some as soon as I get them! Then it was Thanksgiving.. Gobble Gobble. Next was Black Friday....Love those good deals and getting up at 3am! After shopping it was time to get out all the Christmas decorations...that took all weekend and them some! And then to top it off I had Bunco at my house on Tuesday and you know I'm a freak about having all the decorations perfect for having people over! So here I am, finally! I don't have any pics to post right now, but hey, I changed my background and music!!

Halloween Activites!

We did a lot of fun things this month! Halloween parties and activities kept us busy non-stop! Thanks to Grandma's and Aunts and Dance and School!

At Grandma Snyder's Halloween Party we did lots of fun things. We started with lunch and then we painted ceramic pumpkin banks, scratched faces and pictures into little black pumpkins, frosted ghost and pumpkin sugar cookies, and watched a halloween movie. We had so much fun!

We carved pumpkins at Aunt Brooke's house!

Then we had a party at Grandma Welch's where we colored treat bags, decorated cupcakes, and had a pumpkin pinata! So much fun! Inside the pumpkin were toys and treats.

Aspen and Harley both had parties at dance and Aspen had a party at school. I went and helped in Aspen's class by playing musical tombstones with the kids. Aspen and Sami looked so cute as Princesses!

Cove Fort with Grandma and Grandpa Great!

Our day started by meeting at 9:00 am in Lehi and then carpooling down to Cove Fort. We were joined by Grandma and Grandpa Great, Aunt Gae and her 3 foster kids, Heather and her 4 kids, Brenda and Mike and their 3 kids, Lynette and Josh and Malcom, Angie and her 4 kids, and Steph and her 3 kids. 31 in all! When we arrived at the fort we had a picnic lunch in the nice park there. When we were all finished we started our journey into the fort.

Grandpa and Grandma love family history and were excited to tell us about our family history at Cove Fort. Our ancestor, Nicholas Paul, was the mason hired to build the arch to the entry and he designed and built all the fireplaces. His design allowed the majority of all the heat from the fires to stay inside, while keeping the cold out.
We were split up into groups while touring the inside, and we were lucky enough to have Grandpa in our group. I loved listening to him describe and tell all the stories and history he has learned. Steph was smart enough to bring her video camera and caught it all on video, something we'll cherish forever.

Afterwards we went to the big red barn in Santaquin and enjoyed icecream and cupcakes while we celebrated Malcom's 1st birthday. It was such a perfect day and it was great to spend it with family that we don't get to see very often.

Pickin' Pumpkins!

I'm a little slow getting this up, but here it is! A couple weeks ago, Grandma Welch took all the grandkids to the pumpkin patch and let them pick out their own pumpkins. The kids had so much fun! Some liked to put every pumpkin they could pick up in the wheelbarrow, some liked to play in the mini corn maze, and Harley was facinated with an orange cat that was walking around. After the pumpkin patch, Grandma treated us to Artic Circle so the kids could get halloween flashlights! Thanks for a fun evening Grandma!

Grandpa's Elk

I'm a little slow getting this on here, but here are some shots of Grandpa Cal and his prize elk. Shane, Cody and Super Dave were all there to help. Good thing because it took them all day to get that elk back to camp. It didn't help that they had to carry the big thing up a steep hill just to reach the 4-wheelers! I know that Cal and the guys are pretty excited and can't wait to see it mounted on the wall...I'm just glad it's not going on MY wall! Great job PaPa!

Our Trip to Florida

Aspen, Harley, and I were so lucky to get to go to Florida for a week..9-23 - 9-30. My brother, Aaron and his wife, Tammy, called and asked if I would come out and babysit their 2 boys for 4 days while they went on a little get-away. I couldn't say no! They flew me out there, so we only had to buy 1 ticket for Aspen and Harley was free. Shane has been so busy with the new house and couldn't take time off work(with the hunt coming up), so I was off to Florida with the girls.

It was their first plane ride and they did pretty well during the 6 hour flights. When we got to Florida, my other brother that lives there, Deryl, picked us up from the airport and took us to his house for the night. I loved seeing all the palm trees(or as Aspen calls them, "pinecone trees")on the way home. We were so excited to see Deryl, Katy, Jason, Brackon and Elise! We had dinner and spent time playing in their pool. Then the girls enjoyed a bubble bath in the jetted tub with Elise.

Disney World!

We finally made it to Disney World! We want to thank Aunt Katy for hooking us up with free passes to the Magic Kingdom and making Aspen's dream come true! We went on Wednesday the 24th with Katy and Katy's friend(who got us in free!) and spent the day looking for Princesses. Aspen was so determined to meet Sleeping Beauty(her favorite), Cinderella, Belle and Ariel, and then if found more it was just icing on the cake. Luckily we found the 4 she wanted to meet and then saw a few others from a distance in other performances. Aspen was so giddy while waiting her turn to meet the Princesses, it was hilarious...but I constantly had the bigges smile on my face to see her so happy. I wish her Daddy could have been there to see it too! I got both the girls autograph books for the Princesses to sign, and we are excited to put their pictures in them.

I did finally get Aspen to go on some rides(after she met 3 of the Princesses)like Barnyard Rollercoaster, Peter Pan, It's a Small World, Dumbo, Pirates of the Carribean, and Haunted Mansion(I know, it freaked her out a little, but she never cried!)

Aspen also enjoyed seeing Cinderella's Castle and was amazed at how big it was and how pretty it was. She also loved Mickey and Minnie, but we never got to meet them, just see them in performances and in the parade.

I let each girl pick out one toy from the toy store and they got some disney shirts, too. Aspen picked a baby Minnie and Harley picked Lady in a purse from Lady and the Tramp. They have loved them to death!

It was such a fun day and Aspen was worn out and asked if we could go back to Katy's before I was ready, but she had her dream fullfilled and that's what matters most. I loved sharing this experience with my girls! And to top it off, on the way home we almost ran over a turtle(yes a turtle) on the freeway! It made me and Kate laugh so hard!

Wednesday night, Aaron and Tammy took us to their home and they took off thursday morning. So I was in charge of 4 kids, Kaden 6, Aspen 4, Tanner 2, Harley 20 months, Bella dog, and Squirt the tiny turtle. I had to take and pick up Kaden from school thursday and friday and we did venture out to Walmart on thursday to let Kaden pick out his birthday present. Friday night we all went to Deryl's for the weekend, because Katy went out of town too. We mostly hung out at home, but we did make a trip to the Orlanda Temple, which is beautiful! And we swam some more, too.

Sunday I took the kids back to Aaron and Tammy's to wait for them to get home. We were getting pretty bored so I got brave and took them to a couple parks and for a walk along one of the lakes. We tried to find an alligator, but never saw one. We did see a lot of lizards in florida, and a couple of frogs. It's so hard to get used to seeing them all over the place!

Aaron and Tammy came home sunday night, but poor Tammy had to leave again monday morning because her uncle had passed away and the funeral was tuesday. So monday, after Aaron took Tammy and Tanner to the airport we headed off to the beach. I love the beach! It was perfect weather, kind of overcast, and the water was the perfect temperature. Harley loved going in the water and would laugh when the waves would hit us. Aspen enjoyed the very shallow spots, and was scared of the waves. But she loved playing in the sand with Uncle Aaron! That night we ordered pizza and had a little birthday party for kaden while we were there. It was fun to celebrate with him!

Tuesday we packed up and headed home. Aspen was so sad to leave and cried that she wanted to stay in Florida and not go back to Utah. We had so much fun and want to thank everyone for making this trip so much fun for us! We loved seeing everyone and miss you all so much!

Along with going back to school, we started up dance lessons too! This is Aspen's 3rd year in dance and she is taking both Tap and Ballet. She's done both in the past, and went right back to the routine without any problems.

Harley is also starting dance this year! She gets to do the Mommy and Me class. She was a little heistant at first, but she started to warm up towards the end, so hopefully she'll do better next week! That's the smallest dance outfit I could find, and her shoes are only a 1/2 size bigger than the smallest dance shoes. So stinkin cute!

Back to School!

Aspen started her 2nd year of preschool last wednesday. She was so excited! Sami and Aspen are still in the same class and there are several kids from her class last year as well. She made me laugh while we were getting ready because she kept asking, " Mom, do I look beautiful in this?". What a girly girl! When we got to school she walked several feet ahead of me and walked in like she owned the place, I even had to ask her if she was going to say goodbye to me! She gets to go monday, wednesday and friday for 3 hours( I love having a break!) and she loves every minute of it!

Labor Day Weekend at Whitney Resevoir

We went camping over the long weekend.. I know, real shocker, right?! The girls had lots of fun riding 4-wheelers, playing in the dirt, fishing, and just running free! Harley learned to ride Aspen's Barbie jeep all by herself..she's only 19 months! Aspen was Daddy's fishing buddy and spent hours on the lake with her dad, grandpa, and uncle Cody. We were excited to have Grandma and Grandpa Snyder come for the afternoon on Sunday, too!

We love our neighbor Jer! He's such a great friend.. he offered to do our brick and it is looking amazing! He's probably regretting his decision because what started out as wains coat turned into full front brick, 3 pillars, a mailbox, and the front of Shane's big garage...plus I had to choose a design he's never tried before and takes a little bit of figuring out, but he's done an amazing job and I'm excited to see the final product!

Thursday we decided just to hang out at Aunt Steph's house and play in the water. We had the sprinkler under the tramp and a little pool. Everyone had fun, but Harley was in 7th heaven! She was drenched within 2 minutes of being on the tramp. Then she hit the pool and loved spraying herself with the hose. We took off her diaper because it weighed as much as she did, but she had nothing to hold up her swim bottoms! We loved seeing baby "crack" all afternoon!

Thanksgiving Point's Gardens

On Tuesday we went to the gardens at Thanksgiving point. It was beautiful! and the waterfalls were amazing! The kids were pretty good troopers while we walked for a couple hours, but Harley was the best trooper of all! About half way through she wanted out of the stroller, and she walked up and down hills the rest of the way, just as happy as good be! After, we had a picnic for lunch. Another fun day with Grandma!

Summer is so much fun, especially with Grandma! She is always coming up with fun things to do while she's off for the summer. We went up Big Cottonwood Canyon and had hotdogs and hamburgers and then played in the little creek(it was freezing cold, but water is too hard to resist!)for a long time. The kids also loves climbing up and down all the rocks. My girls, especially Harley, were SO dirty by the time we packed up, but they had a ton of fun!

We went camping for 5 days the week of the 24th. Everyone wanted to go somewhere new, so we ended up at Fish Lake(3 1/2 hour drive!) We had lots of fun riding 4-wheelers, taking a few drives, and just relaxing. The kids went non-stop all the time, getting into whatever they could find. The guys attempted fishing, but I think cody was the only one who caught anything, and I believe it was only one. Better luck next time! We also went and checked out the Lodge. That thing looks like it's going to collapse any minute! But it had a beautiful view of the lake.

Zoo Fun!

Grandma Snyder loves to spoil her grandkids! Wednesday she took us all to the Zoo. We were there for almost 6 hours! The kids had so much fun seeing all the animals, riding the train, watching the bird show, picking out a toy(from grandma, of course!), and eating lots of treats. It was the perfect day to go because it was overcast and a little cooler than usual. Thanks for such a fun day Grandma!

Phenix is Home!

We are so excited to have baby Phenix home! He was able to come Friday, July 11. He's still on oxygen, but he is eating so well and gaining weight. He is such a cute sweet boy! Shane and the girls finally got to hold Phenix on Sunday. We stopped by Shane's parents after Dad's birthday dinner so we could get some baby loves. As Carlye would say, "He's so Squishy!"

We'll, we're moving along with our house, we have the footings, foundation, rough plumbing, and they should have the basement and garage poured today or tomorrow so that they can start framing next week. It's starting to look like something!

Bear Lake Vacation

We were lucky enough to be able to go back to Bear Lake this year and stay at Haberman's cabin. It was such a fun week and the weather was great. We even brought along Grandpa Welch because he wanted to go somewhere over the 4th of July weekend, but due to Shilo having the baby, nobody was going out. It was nice to have Cal there and all the girls thought it was great having 2 grandpa's to tease! We spent our days lounging on the beach, playing on the water weenie, wakeboarding, going on boat rides, riding 4-wheelers and motorcycles, playing cards and rummikub, going to Pickleville Playhouse, and enjoying raspberry shakes! I even got Steph, Mom, Dad and Cal out on the water weenie with me! I wore them out, but I think they enjoyed it! We all got tans(except Dad of course) and a few of us had some sun burns. We only wish that the Florida Families could have been there too!

Baby Phenix is Here!

Due to Shilo having high blood pressure and major swelling, her doctor enduced her at 5:30pm on July 1st, 3 weeks early. Shilo did a super job throughout the whole labor and Baby Phenix was born at 1:50am on July 2nd. He weighed 6lbs 8oz and was 19 inches long. He has a lot of dark hair and has long fingers and toes and little man hands. Unfortunately being born early has caused some problems for Phenix. His lungs were not fully developed and he was rushed into the nursery and put on oxygen and a humidifier type thing and had an IV put in until he could be fed. Then on Friday he ended up with jaundis and had to be under the lights for a few days. And then to top it off, he's had to be trained how to eat, swallow and breathe during feedings. He's doing much better now, still on a little oxygen, but is done with jaundis and is eating a lot better. They're hoping to be able to bring him home no later than this Sunday. I was fortunate enough to be there when he was born, but I never got to hold him until the 8th. He is so sweet and so mellow. We can't wait till he's home!

House Update

Well, we finally got started on building our new house! Our hole was dug on Wednesday and they were going to start working on the foundation, but they ran into a problem. Our soil failed the soil test( I know, I asked the same thing, What the heck is a soil test?!). It means that our soil doesn't hold pressure and so they had to dig down 4 more feet until they found soil that could hold pressure. We now have to have taller foundation walls or pay a whole lot to have them fill and pack the dirt back in... I think we're going to go with taller foundation walls. So, hopefully they'll get those going this week!

Saturday evening we were dying of heat and decided to go swimming over at Shyann and Cody's house. It took the girls a little while to get used to it, but once they settled down they really enjoyed it! We had to make them get out because they were covered in goosebumps and shivering so hard! Aspen was really brave and Harley liked floating by herself. We had so much fun!

Enjoying Snowcones!

Saturday was a fun play day! Shane and I packed up the girls and went to the Widowmaker Hill Climbs with Grandpa Welch. It was hot, but we had fun watching the motorcycles and eating lots of snacks! They also had a helicopter there that was giving rides(for a price of course!). Shane and I really wanted to do it but we couldn't get Aspen to come with us, so we took Harley! She screamed while we were loading in, but once we got going she was facinated. Shane got to ride up front where there was glass under his feet and no side door. Several times the pilot would tip us sideways so Shane only had a lap belt holding him in! It was really fun and I wish we could have gotten Aspen to join us too!

Our Trip to Yuba

We spent the weekend down at Yuba and had lots of fun! The weather was so nice, almost too hot in the afternoons. The water on the other hand was a bit chilly.. 64degrees. The kids loved to play along the shore and would venture out into the water and so would the dads, and the dogs! Harley didn't like the water at all, too cold for her taste! She played on the beach with toys all day long. On Saturday we got the boat out and rode the water weenie, wake-boarded, and knee-boarded. I only ventured on the water weenie and it was freezing when you fell in. I wanted to wake-board, but I was a wuss and refused to jump back into that water! It was a fun weekend and we wore the girls out.. they slept the whole way home.

Grandma's Make-over!

Last week Grandma, Steph and Aja came over just to hang out for awhile. Aspen and her friend Sami started doing Grandma's hair and then Aja joined in too! Before we knew it, Grandma was made-over from head to toe! and yes, that is Aspen's dance tu-tu that grandma is wearing (she is so tiny!). Grandma looks so PRETTY!

I wish i had remembered my camera, but you know how it goes some days! On Saturday, Aspen and I got haircuts! I chopped about 5 inches off the back of my hair, added lots of layers and added swoopy bangs. Aspen got her very first hair trim, and you would have thought that I was trying to have her head cut off! Little Miss Drama was throwing THE BIGGEST TANTRUM about getting her hair trimmed. My neighbor Brooke was the one doing the haircuts, so it wasn't like we were at a strange place or with strange people, but Aspen insisted she wasn't letting anyone cut her hair. After many tears and many untaken bribes, I got Aspen to sit on my lap and as soon as Brooke started Aspen was just fine. We took about 2 inches off so that everything was even across the back. Aspen was just relieved that her hair was still long. Hopefully next time won't be so traumatic!

As if we didn't already know, my girls are true GiRly GiRls! They love shoes! Any of you that have seen their assortment of shoes know that I have an issue with buying my girls too many shoes! I guess it has worn off on them because they love wearing shoes, especially Harley. They played in my shoes for along time the other day and when they were at Stephs house, Harley spent forever trying on Steph's and the girls shoes. I constantly have shoes strewn across my house. Harley has even learned to put on some of her own shoes! And Grandma Snyder has experienced 1st hand that if Harley is throwing a fit in the store, take her to the shoe section and she is in heaven! Pretty pathetic, but I love my Girly Girls!

Daddy's Birthday!

On Monday we did our Memorial Day BBQ with my family and also celebrated Shane's Birthday. We had malibu chicken(yum yum) and funfetti birthday cake. We had to celebrate inside though because it was raining almost all day! Thanks for a fun evening everyone!

My Baby's 4!

So my baby girl is now 4 years old! I can't believe how big, smart, sassy, sweet, cute, etc.. she is! She loves pre-school and does so well at everything. She can read her alphabet, her name and also recognizes some of her friends names(and harley's!). She counts perfectly, spells her name and most of the kids in her class. She loves thinking of words that all start with the same sound. I love watching her little brain work. She loves her baby sister and can be a big help and sometimes a big tease! She also loves watching movies...she's a movie buff for sure! She also loves spending time with her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins whenever possible. She is the all time girliest girl! She always wants to wear skirts and if she doesn't like cloths i've picked out she tells me they won't make her look cute! I have to remind her she's only 4! not 16! I love her to pieces and couldn't imagine life without her. As much as she drives me nutty, she still makes me smile everyday and her laugh is so contagious. She loves to have mom to herself and always tells me she loves me so much. I love you too baby girl!

At her check-up this week she is perfect.. 50% in her height and 50% in her weight. She also had to have her eyes checked for the first time and did very well! She could read all the letters from far away.. 20/20 vision!

We celebrated Mother's Day and Aspen's Birthday at the same time! She's a Perfect Mother's Day gift! We had pizza for dinner, cupcakes and icecream, and opened lots of fun presents...and her most anticipated gift was her new dollhouse..just like her friend Abbi's! She's so excited with it and plays with it all the time. All the guys kept laughing and me, Steph and Grandma because as we were opening all the pieces we were playing and trying everything out, just like the little girls!

Shane wanted to take the 4-wheeler out last weekend and wanted all of us to come, but I told him Harley would not last all day on the 4-wheeler, but Aspen would love it. So Shane, Aspen, Granpa Welch, Cody and Gunner all went out for the day on Saturday down by Vernon(I Think!). Aspen just had to have a Princess Party this year and is so excited for her party. She wants to dress up as Belle and all her guests are supposed to dress up as princesses too. Tamara wanted to see the invites.. so here it is. I know, I spend way too much time on this stuff, but it's an obsession!

I used my Cricut cutting machine to cut out all the dolls, dresses, hair, shoes, gloves, etc.. and then I had to cut some of the dresses to get the layered look and glue them all together. If you can't tell, it's Belle, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty. I wanted to do Mermaid and Jasmine with Belle, but this is what the Birthday girl wanted. I had a "Mature" moment and let Aspen decide what to put on the invite.. I'm so proud of myself!
